Annealing and Coating Line (ACL) for Silicon Steel StripNon-grain-oriented strip is annealed in a radiant tube furnace using a continuous process after cold rolling to ensure recrystallization and controlled grain growth. Top-quality steel requires strip temperatures above 1100°C and a very dry atmosphere with a high hydrogen content. This is followed by controlled cooling to obtain an extremely flat strip.
Annealing and Pickling Line (APL) for Silicon Steel StripThe hot rolled strips (NGO and GO) are initially annealed in a continuous process to eliminate brittleness prior to cold rolling and to modify the microstructure. The annealing process is followed by a controlled cooling stage with a cooling rate which may range from 5 to 80 K/s depending on the steel grade required.
Annealing and Pickling Line (APL) for Stainless Steel StripTenova, with its over 40 years of experience, has the competence and knowledge of the thermal process which is required for the production of stainless steel strip.
Calcining FurnacesTenova has developed advanced technologies for petroleum coke and coal rotary hearth calciners used to process lignite, sub-bituminous coal, anthracite, brown coal, formed coke briquettes and many other carbon-based products. Its proprietary rotary hearth calciner provides better product quality and higher product yield than traditional rotary kilns.
Carbon Baking FurnacesTenova has designed and supplied carbon baking furnaces for almost every major U.S. carbon electrode manufacturing plant and for many other customers worldwide. These furnaces are designed to provide a high quality product in an efficient and cost effective way.
Color Coating Lines for Carbon SteelAnswering to the huge demand for coloured products in the markets of architectural, furniture, laminated, co-laminated, food, appliances, and white goods; Tenova provides Colour Coating and Laminating Lines for thin and heavy gauge strip, narrow and wide strip, aluminium strip, carbon steel, silicon steel and even stainless steel strip. Integrating mechanical and process know-how, Tenova offers high quality technology and environmentally friendly process for treating baths and solvent cleaning with heat recovery. The processes are: - Conventional chemical conversion by dip or spray tanks - Advanced “dry-in-place” process by Chemical Coaters - Specifically designed Paint Coaters - Special Catenary or Flotation curing ovens. Over the years Tenova has realized a great number of chemical coaters and passivation/pre-treatment sections, and our production range covers every possible pass-line configuration that can be found in new as well as in existing lines for revamping. Coaters can be fully automatic and moved off line for maintenance purposes. Most featured lines are equipped with two coaters in order to have a possibility to run while maintenance is made on the off-line coater so as to increase productivity. The automotive end users are requesting coating values in specific ranges and these are the basis for the certification of the lines for automotive purposes that Tenova is able to provide for today and tomorrow automotive market demands.
Continuous Pickling LinesTenova supplies high-capacity and high-quality fully automatic Continuous Pickling Lines for carbon steel featuring: • Capacity of up to 2.200.000 ton/year • Process speed up to 350 m/min • Entry/Exit sections speed up to 800 m/min • Potentially zero waste in combination with a dedicated Acid Regeneration Plant.
Decarburizing and Coating Line (DCL) for Silicon Steel StripCold rolled GO Si steel strip is annealed in a continuous process line for primary recrystallization and decarburization. After the steel strip has passed through the DCL furnace, it is coated with magnesium oxide and then dried.
Drying furnaceDrying furnaces are used for drying the goods before they enter the galvanizing bath. The drying process finishes the pre-treatment, which took place in liquid media and ended up with dipping the parts into flux.
Electrolytic Cleaning LineA Cleaning section removes from the strip surface the remaining rolling emulsion and iron fines and dries the strip through several processes and is equipped with the special high-turbulence high-efficiency density (HTHE) electrolytic cleaning tank to enhance the strip cleaning. The strip is brushed with the high efficiency - quick maintenance brushing units of the brush-to-brush type.

Flattening and Coating Line (FCL) for Silicon Steel StripFor the final heat treatment process the transformer strip is coated with insulating varnish in an in-line process and then dried in an indirectly heated furnace. The steel strip is heated further in a radiant tube furnace with a controlled atmosphere and then straightened using the integrated hot stretching equipment. This stage is followed by a slow cooling process.
Galvanizing furnace for high temperatureGalvanizing furnaces with ceramic bath area are used for galvanizing of small parts. They are available with natural gas and oil heating. The dimension can be adapted to the intended goods to be galvanized.
Galvanizing furnace with kettleGalvanizing furnaces with kettle are used for galvanizing of structural steel components of large dimension. They are available with natural gas, oil or electrical heating. The dimension can be adapted to the intended goods to be galvanized.

Heat Treatment Furnaces for wire of nonferrous metalsChamber furnaces are used for annealing and solution annealing processes of wire coils made of nonferrous alloys (e.g. nickel alloys, Inconel) or also special steels (e.g. duplex or high resistance steels) Furnaces can be custom-designed to meet the specific customer needs. Normally annealing processes require the presence close to the furnace of a dedicated tank for rapidly quenching the products.

HPH® Bell-type Annealing Furnaces with JET Cooling for Carbon Steel StripJET cooling technology does not require open water in the workshop. During cooling, specially designed JET nozzles ensure high air velocity perpendicular to the inner cover, ensuring high heat transfers, while the cooling speed can be controlled by frequency-controlled fans.
